This is the same pattern I reviewed earlier that I had sewn view C in denim. Here is view A in black wool crepe. This skirt goes together very easily and is easy to fit. Be sure to use a very drapey fabric. I cut the size that is closest to my hip measurement. My waist is smaller but that doesn't matter much on this type of skirt as it just slides down a little lower on the hips. If you don't like that, it is simple to take in the waist a little. The only tricky part was the zipper application. Because the side seam is curved, it is easy for the zipper to pucker and the fabric to stretch. I had no trouble with this on the denim skirt so I wasn't thinking about that possibility as I rushed to put the zipper in. Wool crepe behaves very differently from denim. I should have stabilized the seam first. As a result I had to rip and reapply the zipper to get it right. |
