Pattern Description: This is a close-fitting pull-over top with a deep V-neckline, overlapped front and neckline edge, finished with a narrow hem. I chose the 3/4 length sleeve. Pattern Sizing: XS-XL all included. Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Exactly like it. Were the instructions easy to follow? Very clear and easy as many here at PatternReview have found with Kwik Sew. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? The ease of construction. Fabric Used: I used a stretch lace with 4 way stretch. Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made: I have made a size small (with full bust alteration) in other Kwik Sew tops but as this says it is close fitting I decided to cut the medium. I took it in halfway back to the small at the underarm, tapering out to medium at hip. Several reviewers here have commented that they didn't like view A because it pulled. They chose view B with the underbust seam. I have some ready made tops similar to view A and hoped it would work for me. I think the key to preventing the pulling is to have enough ease through the waist and hip. Mine is snug in the upper body and bust but relaxed from the ribcage down. It doesn't pull. Also it is possible to tack the V at the cross-over to avoid gaping. Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Definitely. I'm eager to make this one again. |
