This is a popular pattern that has been reviewed often, even once by me. I made a few changes to feature my fabric which is a striped knit. I wanted the stripes to run diagonally. I experimented with another pattern that calls for bias placement (see review) and liked that pattern very much. However, for this fabric I wanted set in sleeves for a trimmer fit so I decided to adapt this Kwik Sew favorite.

I turned the front pieces on the bias so that the stripes ran from the shoulder to the opposite side at the waist. I kept the back on the straight grain for stability. I also lengthened the right front a few inches and added 3 tucks to add some softness. I used iron on tape to prevent stretching at shoulders and neckline. However I still had a lot of stretching at the neckline and had to pull the two fronts over into the side seams quite a bit to smooth out the neckline. I also tacked the center fronts where they cross to prevent gaping.

I had a bit of fabric left over so I made the scarf to wear with the top. This is a good pattern with a nice fit at the shoulders and armscye. I definitely recommend it.
