Pattern Rating:Easy to sew

This is an easy to make, pull-over dress which is very loose-fitting. The pattern was located in the loungewear section of the catalog so, although they describe it as a dress, the fit is more suitable for loungewear. I had found this wonderful stretch velvet with an Oriental looking print and it called to me to become a cozy yet elegant something to wear around the house. I perused the pattern books and found this one. Like Julia, who reviewed this pattern last week, I'm surprised it is no longer in the catalog as I just bought it a month ago.

I particularly liked this design as the collar has an Asian look to it. I thought that suited my fabric well. It is very simple to construct. If you are using a stiffer fabric you might want to cut the collar down a little as it stands up high. With my soft fabric it is not a problem.

Also if you are using a stiffer fabric you may want to reduce the amount of ease. I made the small without adding any of my usual alterations (full bust, add on for tummy and hips) and it is plenty big. It would be too big if the fabric didn't drape so nicely.

My husband loves this on me. It is so comfortable and washable, yet looks so much better than my old fleece thing.
