Pattern Rating:I would definitely sew this pattern again

This pattern will look very different depending on the fabric you choose. I used a sueded rayon which drapes beautifully. However because of the extremely unstable nature of this fabric I had some problems. The front of the top is entirely bias. It grew an a lot just lifting it off the cutting table. When I sewed it to the back, the front seemed enormous. It is large even without stretching. I took apart the side seams and cut as much as I could off the front. The back is not bias and fits normally. I didn't remove any from the back. After sewing it back together it still seemed huge so I took tucks on each side of the front and tacked it at the hem.

The other thing is to be very careful in finishing the neckline edge as the wrong side will show when it drapes. The rayon was difficult because it wanted to ripple along the edge. The top can be worn folded across the front and held with a pin or button.

Once I worked out all these problems, the top is a great success. It is comfortable to wear over a tank top and very unique.
