Keely, I will write reviews for all the garments soon..... when I can get DH to do some photos.

Birgitte, I have a new Embellisher that I was excited to try out so I took it with me on the retreat. It is not nuno felt but yarn and roving felted onto a wool base. That became a collar on a coat I was making.

Tahoe Sewing Retreat

I'm back from the incredible sewing retreat. We all sewed as though possessed, from day break to midnight. Barbara and I were always the last ones in the sewing room at midnight, but never the first in the morning I must admit. Others were there sewing by 6 am. We made the 8 am breakfast, took 30 minutes for lunch and dinner and sewed all the rest of the time. Maybe 14 hours a day for 4 days plus another evening. We brought our walking shoes but never left the building. Well, once we left to go to the nearby fabric store for zippers and buttons. But that was it.

Most of the group of 32 sewing fanatics were quilters. Maybe 7 or 8 others produced some clothing. But since we were cranking out one garment after another some started to referring to us as the Project Runway girls. And we did crank them out. I sewed 10 garments. I think Barbara did a similar amount. Some projects were quick but others were much more time consuming than I thought they would be. I think I'm not usually aware of how much time each project takes because the work is done over a few days. When you work nonstop you become more aware of the time spent.

Everyone really enjoyed the retreat and all said they want to come back next year. I sure hope I can. Here are some photos to give you an idea of the event.

I've been neglecting my blog.... I never even wrote about the last several items I wrote reviews about. Too much going on I guess including getting my new computer set up. That took me a lot of time and fussing but it is great now. It is lots faster and fun to use.

As to sewing, I have been busy cutting out many projects to take tomorrow on a sewing retreat at Lake Tahoe. My friend Barbara and I are joining our Haute Couture club's annual retreat for 5 days of sewing. We are really excited about this. It should be crazy fun and productive as well. I have 5 garments cut out and loads more planned. Way more than I can possibly sew. Who knows how much can be done when there are no computers, meals to prepare, phones to answer, etc. etc. We'll see....
