Pattern Information provided by Ann Smith

Pattern Rating:I would definitely sew this pattern again

Pattern Description: This is a tunic in a long or short length. View A & B have tucks on front and back. View C, which is the one I made, does not have the tucks. The collar has an asian look, the closure is with buttons and loop with an under flap for coverage. The pockets are a very fun patch style that bellow.

Pattern Sizing: Today's Fit sizing. I used size B, easing out larger at the hips. I usually use size 8 going to 12 at the sides.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes, until I added the trim.

Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, very complete.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I really like the pockets. They are easy to do and have a different effect that is unique. I also like the collar, the front closure and the fit. I have a "maturing" body with a full bust. The Today's Fit patterns work well for me. Some people have had trouble with the sizing. If I made the size according to my full bust size it would be too big, just as any pattern would. I use the high bust measurement and it works out fine.

Fabric Used: A cotton/linen toile.

Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made: I really wanted to make a smock of some sort out of toile. As I put this together I saw that it was going to be very bland looking because of the low contrast in the colors of the print. I decided to pipe the edges of the pocket, collar and sleeves with purchased black trim. Then I remembered that I had these fabulous antique frogs that were perfect for the tunic.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I hope to make this again, next time trying the tucks and perhaps the longer version.

Conclusion This is an easy to sew tunic/jacket/top with a lot of style. I definitely recommend it.
