Pattern Information provided by Ann Smith

Pattern Rating:I Highly recommend this pattern

Pattern Description: A wrap blouse with a soft shawl collar, a shaped back with darts, asymmetric fronts that wrap to each side vent with button/loop closures, and long tapered sleeves with underarm gussets.

Pattern Sizing: Sizes XS through XXL all included in one pattern.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes, definitely.

Were the instructions easy to follow? These are very good instructions through out. Everything goes together very well. The gusset is simply done with very clear explanation. Mitering corners well described. There is a note on the pattern suggesting alterations that might be needed if one has a full tummy. I've never seen that before!

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I like this pattern a lot. It may be my favorite wrap blouse. The wrap overlaps well and doesn't gap or need extra stitching to hold it closed. The assymetric front adds extra pizazz. It is very comfortable to wear. I didn't like that it took longer than I expected but not surprising with all the detail.....button loops and buttons, gusset, mitered corners.

Fabric Used: A semi-sheer crinkled something, possibly rayon.

Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made: No design changes. I altered slightly by shortening sleeves 3 inches, more than my usual amount so these sleeves run long. I didn't shorten the length which I often need to do. Note that the back is quite short. I did my usual smaller size at the neck and sleeves with larger size at the side seams. No FBA as there seemed to be enough ease.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I would make this again. I think it will look very different in another fabric such as light weight linen or cotton shirting.

Conclusion This is more fitted than older Sewing Workshop patterns so if you are used to those, watch the sizing. This does have dropped shoulders but only slightly. I think this is a great top.
